This calculator was designed to help you figure out the length of the longer legs on the unit stand. To use the calculator, fill in the "A" dimension and the roof pitch and then press the "Calculate" button. If you know the dimension of the short legs ("B") fill it in and it will be added into the equation.

If you do not know the roof pitch, use a one foot level (a two foot level can also be used, see not below) to create a horizontal line with one end laying on the roof. Then use your measuring tape to measure the distance from the roof to the 12 inch mark on your level. This measurement will be your roof pitch.

Note: If you are using a two foot level, take your measurement and divide by two.
